Mirandantics

"Raindrops keep falling on my head... That means I really getting wet." - Miranda's made-up lyrics in the shower.

*

"Because I'm HAPPY. Clap along...." - the extent of what she knows of the song. Pharell is a hit with her.

*

Miranda was on the phone to my mum yesterday.

Mummy: Hello, Grandma's little princess!
Miranda: I'm not princess. I'm pirate.
Mummy: Ohhh ok. Hello pirate!
Miranda: I'm Captain!!

Never fails to make me laugh how she never calls herself a princess.

Grandpa: How much do you love Grandpa?
Miranda: Two dollars.
Grandpa: How much do you love Abby (Cadabby)?
Miranda: Five dollars.
Grandpa: :/

My Little Girl

This morning as I was getting dressed, Miranda woke up. She softly called out, "Mommy?" I popped my head out of the walk-in and saw that she was stretching herself out, getting ready for the day. She made her way to the foot of the bed, lay on her belly and rested her little head on her little hands so she could watch me. She asked, "Are you wearing that dress, Mommy?" I said, "Yes, do you like it?"

"Hmm," she said. "Miranda has (a) dress like that too?" And then, as always, with a twist of her wrist, palm upwards to emphasise her question. "It's nice, like Miranda's dress. Mommy bought it." I had no idea which dress she is talking about so I just said, "Yes, all your dresses are nice." "And the shorts? And the tops?" "Yup, the shorts and the tops too."

I walked over to her to pick her up and she felt the fabric of my dress between her fingers, the way I do at the shops.

Kids, right? They really pick up on every single thing we do. I think it's safe to say my little girl is going to break her Daddy's bank account very soon haha.

Chu's Day

This morning I was on the train and suddenly thought of one of my favourite authors, Neil Gaiman. So I googled him and turns out he's written a children's book. Yay! :)
